Binance in Talks for Malaysia License after Five-Year Absence

Binance is in discussions with Malaysian regulators for a licensed business after being blocked from the country for over five years following a 2021 cease-and-desist order. The Securities Commission removed Binance from its Investor Alert List in 2024 but added it back earlier this month without explanation. Binance suffered a $6.3 billion security breach this week, the largest known crypto hack, and faces scrutiny over alleged ringgit transactions on its peer-to-peer platform.
