'It Can Take Years': Coinbase Presses for Bitcoin Quantum Migration to Start Now

Coinbase, which custodies ~5% of all Bitcoin, urged developers to begin preparing for quantum computing threats now, stating consensus changes and migration can take years. The exchange outlined technical requirements including a flexible container design (BIP-360), staged classical-plus-quantum spending paths, and MPC key-splitting compatibility for custodians.
