US Government Crypto Wallets Move 833.6 Bitcoin to Coinbase Prime, First BTC Transfer Since August

US government moved 833.6 BTC (~$71 million) to Coinbase Prime on Tuesday, the first transfer since August, comprising 264.9 BTC from the 2016 Bitfinex hack seizure and 568.7 BTC from the Potapenko-Turogin fraud forfeiture. The transfer included a small test transaction followed by larger shipments, with blockchain firms confirming the origins of the seized assets. US government still holds approximately 324,000 BTC (~$27.7 billion); no liquidation has been announced, and a 2025 executive order directs that forfeited bitcoin for the Strategic Bitcoin Reserve not be sold.
